What the bible says on dating
(NIV, Galatians -28) laws which banned interracial marriages. A number of attempts were made to use the Bible to justify those bans on interracial marriage. All those laws were declared unconstitutional by the U. Vague assertions were made that God intended for the races to remain separate. It is the touching story where Isaac told Jacob to go to Padan Aram and marry one of his uncle Laban's daughters (Genesis 28:1 - 2).The narrative jumps to Genesis 29 where Jacob falls head over heels in love with his cousin Rachel. Trying to find a mate this way would be as exciting as watching paint dry. It has many twists and turns, and you deal with them as they come.Eventually the chemistry of love began working between a particular couple, and it became apparent they were meant for each other.Do you make a shopping list, and check off each step? We went out with many girls, with of course no kissing or sex, just a good time at the beach, or bowling, or at the movies. God's word says very little about dating because wives were generally chosen by the parents.
One little bit of advice I can offer regarding dating.
The Hebrews were forbidden to marry Canaanites and other pagan peoples (Exodus -16; Deuteronomy 7:1-3).
The reason was because those people worshipped idols, not because of race; the Hebrews, Amorites, Canaanites, etc. The apostle Paul encouraged Christians not to marry unbelievers (2 Corinthians ), but here again, the reason was religious, not racial.
Don’t think you will change that person later on in life because that rarely happens and only makes things worse. He loves you and does not want you to be one flesh with a person that won’t accept his son. An ungodly husband or an ungodly wife cannot do God’s will in marriage. 1 Corinthians But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler.
I want to also remind you this, don’t date someone just because they go to church because many people who say they’re Christians are not truly Christians.
